Wonders of Nature at Nancy Lloyd Fine Art
"Wonders of Nature" featuring guest artist, Ken Sanford, will run Saturday, March 5 through Sunday May 1, at Nancy Lloyd Fine Art, with an opening reception on Saturday, March 5, 7 pm to 10 pm. Nancy Lloyd Fine Art is located at 1695 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA and is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.

Ken Sanford, age 32, is a gifted wildlife artist who specializes in painting on leaves. “I enjoy painting wildlife scenes on a natural canvas,” Ken says. Each leaf Ken uses for his paintings is collected from the prison yard where he is incarcerated. Ken is serving a life-without-parole sentence in Pennsylvania for a crime he was convicted of as a minor. “I love the beauty around us that God has created and I like to capture a bit of it on nature itself.” It is Ken’s hope that his art will bless and inspire others to find beauty and meaning in life even after tragedy or terrible mistakes. After years in prison, Ken taught himself to paint out of a desire to improve his life and bring beauty to his surroundings.
Prints of Ken’s work can be purchased at Letters to a Lifer or ETSY.

Meet and Greet Artist Annysa Ng at East Meets West at Nancy Lloyd Fine Art
reception October 17 from 5 pm to 7 pm
Meet New York-based, Hong Kong-born, artist Annysa Ng on Saturday, October 17 between 5 pm and 7 pm at a reception held at Nancy Lloyd Fine Art. Ms Ng is a guest artist participating in East Meets West, exhibiting her iconic silhouettes that explore women’s cultural roles. The exhibit, will continue through November 1. Nancy Lloyd Fine Art, located at 1695 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA, is open Saturdays and Sundays, 11 am to 5 pm.

New York-based, Hong Kong-born artist, Annysa Ng, is known for using stylized black-and-white silhouette depictions of faceless women to explore women’s role in the culturally and socially ambiguous world of Hong Kong. Caught between East And West in knowledge, history, and gender, Ms. Ng’s subjects display symbols of the dual cultures through the use of dress and referencing art history. The featureless silhouettes lack the inferences of emotions, allowing the viewer to ponder whether the symbols are experienced by the subjects as a hardship or represent an opportunity for freedom. Ms. Ng began studies at the First Institute Of Art And Design In Hong Kong. A move to the School Of Visual Arts, NewYork, exposed her to new influences and she discovered an affinity with the work of German artists, prompting her to finish her studies at Staatliche Akademie Der Bildenen Kunste in Stuttgart, Germany.
